Headline: Contractor's Home Is Marked By Thatched Roofing Effect

Body Text: An "old world cottage" built with native Arizona rock and a thatched roof effect was completed at 1134 West Culver street last week by Frank B. Wallace, builder and subdivider, to serve as a home for himself and his wife.
It is one of two houses constructed in the same area by Mr. Wallace.
His new home has nine rooms and two baths. The approach is by a flagstone walk and porch. The covered pergola and rock wall with circle top gate are features. On the east side is a rock walled garden with rock bordered pool for water plants and gold fish. A rustic seat and furniture completes the scheme.
The mahogany front entrance door is of massive construction with many panels and raised mold. The living room has a number of details including a rock bordered fireplace and clock niche with rough rock shelf, a large circular window and wrought iron hardware, Swedish iron electric fixtures, mahogany doors, smooth-troweled blended stucco walls, and French doors opening to the garden.
The dining room is two steps above the living room, with curved wrought iron railings on each side of the wide arch. The dining room is finished similarly to the living room with the exception of the beamed ceiling. It has two pairs of wide French doors, which frame a view of paved terrace, garden, and rocky niche from which water trickles into the pool.
The bathroom is flesh pink and green, decorated with black and apricot. Small cabinets with tile tops are at each side of the lavatory and the medicine cabinet, above, has a Venetian mirror.
The dressing room is attractive with built-in dressing table, drawers and wardrobes, large mirror and floral decorations. There are two bedrooms and a screened and glassed sleeping porch.
The basement contains a hot air furnace and storage space. The double garage at the rear is of similar construction to the house.
